My 30-Minute Super Simple, Super Easy, All-Natural Constipation Cure

Constipation. We don’t like to talk about it, but it happens to us all! The best way to stave off constipation is to drink plenty of water throughout the day, eat lots of fiber-rich foods, and exercise regularly. However, that’s not always possible. Maybe you’ve been trapped at work all day and forgot to keep a bottle of water on your desk; maybe you’re on vacation eating unfamiliar food and not drinking enough water. Whatever the reason, you are plugged up. You can practice better dietary habits tomorrow. Today, you need a constipation cure, and fast, so you can get back to work, vacation, and your life!

Not to fear. I have a highly effective, super easy, and all-natural constipation cure that you can put together from items you probably already have in your fridge. It should start working in just 30 minutes.

The 30-Minute Constipation Cure:

Ingredients:

  • Fresh lemon
  • Baking soda (I recommend Bob’s Red Mill Baking Soda)
  • One 8-ounce glass of drinking water

Directions: Squeeze half of the lemon into the water and add one teaspoon of baking soda. Make sure to use a bigger cup than necessary, since the baking soda will make the water fizzle. Give this simple concoction a mix and then drink up! Make sure you have an available bathroom nearby. The process should take about 30 minutes, but each person is different.

How It Works

The baking soda and lemon juice both spur your digestive tract to naturally expel what’s been hanging on in your colon for too long. Baking soda is a highly alkalized substance, which allows it to neutralize excess acids in the stomach and get things moving. According to BenGreenfieldFitness.com, the baking soda “can also draw fluids into your digestive tract and increase intestinal peristalsis, tiny contractions of your gastrointestinal muscles.” These contractions help move waste out of your system. The folks at Home Remedies for Life add that, “as baking soda releases air from the digestive tract, that air forces blockages out of the system, allowing stools to pass without pressure or pain.”

What about the lemon? Though lemon is highly acidic, it actually turns alkaline inside the digestive system, which also neutralizes stomach acids and jumpstarts the digestive process.

Keep this recipe handy for whenever constipation strikes, but also try to stay hydrated to lower the occurrence of this uncomfortable condition.

Extra Constipation Tips

If you are experiencing a particularly stubborn case of constipation, there are a few extra steps you can take along with the lemon-baking soda cure to help kick start the process:

  • Perform slow, easy stretches after you take the cure
  • Focus on deep, slow breathing for 10 minutes. Make sure to breath into your stomach.
  • Perform 20 to 50 squats while breathing deeply
  • Give yourself a gentle tummy massage while you are on the toilet. Massage in a clockwise motion.
  • Warm up Castrol oil, add four drops of peppermint essential oil, and rub it gently on your stomach
  • Finally, lay down for 30 minutes and breath slowly and deeply from your abdomen
  • Repeat these steps as much as necessary

If constipation is a common part of your life, you may need more than a quick reset. It may be time to consider giving your colon a deep clean to scrub out crusted feces, parasites, and acid pockets that could be slowing down your bowel movements and toxifying your body!
